Back in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs for the first time since winning the 2017 MLS Cup, Toronto FC host D.C. United in a Round One showdown Oct. 19 at 6 pm ET from BMO Field.
Toronto FC earned the No. 4 seed, and the home game, by defeating Columbus Crew SC, 1-0, on Decision Day presented by AT&T. Alejandro Pozuelo scored the lone goal on a 58th-minute free kick as the Reds ended the regular season on a 10-match unbeaten streak.
D.C. United were in position to host when Decision Day began, but dropped to fifth place following a 0-0 draw against FC Cincinnati at Audi Field, coupled with Toronto's win over the Crew. The Black-and-Red capped the regular season with five consecutive clean sheets, but failed to score in either of their final two games.
The teams battled to a 0-0 draw May 15 at BMO Field and a 1-1 stalemate at Audi Field June 29. The winner heads to New York to face New York City FC in the Eastern Conference Semifinals Oct. 23 at 7 pm ET.
