The Vancouver Whitecaps look to extend an all-time home unbeaten streak against the Houston Dynamo to nine games and avenge a loss at BBVA Stadium earlier this year, while  the Dynamo hope to carry momentum from a midweek victory over Minnesota United when the Western Conference foes square off at BC Place Saturday night.

The Whitecaps (6-15-9) are hoping to snap a three-game losing streak and rebound from a 3-1 home loss to NYCFC Aug. 31. Heber and Gary Mackay-Steven, who replaced the injured Brazilian, gave the visitors a two-goal lead inside 26 minutes. Yordy Reyna put a jolt into the home fans with a lethal half volley in the 64th minute, but Alexandru Mitrita extended NYCFC's lead back to a comfortable margin eight minutes later.

The Dynamo (10-15-4) snapped a seven-match winless streak and handed Davy Arnaud his first victory as interim coach, defeating Minnesota United 2-0 at BBVA Stadium Wednesday. Mauro Manotas and Christian Ramirez struck seven minutes apart late in the first half. The Loons thought they cut their deficit in half, but Ethan Finlay's goal was called back following Video Review when referee Timothy Ford ruled an offside Angelo Rodriguez obstructed goalkeeper Joe Willis.

This is the second meeting this season, with the Dynamo winning 3-2 thanks to Memo Rodriguez's brace, including a 73rd-minute winner after Lass Bangoura leveled in the 54th minute. Fredy Montero and Alberth Elis exchanged penalty kick goals seven minutes apart late in the first half.
